Update On Tripp Halstead – 09/01/2014 – About September 2012

Stacy-Sept 1st already. September is my favorite month. Bill and I said “I love you” for the first time on Sept 13, 2006. One year we were married on Sept 15, 2007. Three years later we became parents. Tripp arrived on Sept 11, 2010. Absolutely the best day of our lives. And Sept 2012 was the last full month that I heard Tripp’s voice. “I love you mommy” How much do you love Dadda? “I love Dadda to the moon” What do you want for breakfast? “Ummm, hot dogs, giggle giggle” You can’t have hot dogs for breakfast silly. “Ummm, eggs!!!” Yes, you can have eggs. “I watch Queen, pleeeaaaase” “I go to schsooool” “No!l” “That’s Mine!!” “Ice Screeeam”
Mimi-Tripp, do you love Mimi? “Noooo, I love Bobo, giggle giggle, run and hide” Bobo-Tripp, do you love Bobo? “noooo, I love Mimi, giggle giggle, run and hide”
Tripp loved to mess with mom and dad. And he just loved to talk all the time. And such a daredevil. You had to watch him constantly. He was all boy, that’s for sure.
It is just so different now. But I have no reason to complain. Tripp is here, he is smiling, he is loved by millions. Did I mention he is still here! As long as he is with us, Bill and I can get through anything. He is our whole world, not that he wasn’t before but it is different now. Instead of cherishing vacation memories or big events, we cherish every single day. We thank Jehovah God and Jesus everyday for what we have. Our amazing faith, family and friends. We are going to make this Sept the best yet. Bill is doing his first Ironman for two great charities. We have been so blessed these past two years, we have to pay it forward. You guys have been amazing to us. Letting me vent, cry, laugh, be silly, be a hot mess and you guys are still so supportive. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. So many people have done fundraisers for us. In factwww.camadpoppers.com and FB pagehttps://www.facebook.com/CaliforniaMadPoppers
has fallen so in love with Tripp that they extended their Frozen Popcorn sale one more day. Thank you Josh. There are still so many things we want for Tripp. Get a service dog, try Hippo therapy, do the Oxygen hyperbaric chamber, try the therapy that Hawk just did in California, etc. Start real food through the tube, the lists are endless. Sometimes it is overwhelming, considering Bill and I still have to make time for each other, still plan date nights, vacations, still exercise, go in the ministry, and support other charities. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I know we have so many new followers, some of you don’t even know what happened to Tripp. You can find Tripp’s full story on his webpagewww.teamboom4tripp.com I can never thank you guys enough for all the prayers and support. Love you all!!!

Update 10/15/13 – 1 On Tripp Halstead

Stacy; This picture was from this weekend. I thought it was so sweet. Tripp and his Nana. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but poor Tripp threw up last night and he was awake and upset from 3am till almost 8. Bill stayed in his room last night and like me, He knows when to ask for help. He came and got me at 6:30 to take over. I love that we make such a great team. I gave Tripp some Ibprophen and cuddled up with him in front of the TV and he finally calmed down. I think his head was hurting. Only 1 week till his surgery. I pray this makes him feel better. He is still having a rough day. I hope the massage he gets today will help him relax. Poor baby. Thank you for the extra prayers today. Love you all.

Stacy: This was taken exactly one year ago today. Ten short days before our lives changed forever. Bill turned his Nursery into a Big Boy Lighting McQueen one all in one day. Tripp gets more and more exciting throughout the video. Moments like these are what I miss the most. I love you Tripp.http://youtu.be/xX3qL8DHA6E

Update On Tripp Halstead – July 27, 2014

Just wanted to post these two pictures to show his sweet little smile. If you look back at the pictures the other day,and the one I recopied from way back when, you can see a tremendous  difference in everything about him. He is so much more relaxed and has that great little smile. So much better that the blank stare from way back when.

The first picture shows Tripp in a blank stare. At least that is what it looks like to me. My dates show that it was a little over a year ago when this picture was taken. The second picture shows Tripp with such a sweet smile, it makes you just want to hug him. The picture was less than a week ago. The third picture shows Tripp sitting up and smiling at the same time. That picture was just posted to Facebook yesterday.  If you go back through my blog to the one dated July 20, 2014, and press the read more, you will see pictures of the day before the accident, and the day of the accident. When you compare all of the pictures, you can see just how far Tripp has come. The accident was October 29, 2012, the first picture on this post was July 7, 2013, the second picture was July 20, 2014, and the third picture in this blog was on July 26, 2014.

There is so much difference, it is very obvious to see that Tripp has already come a very long way. He still has a long way to go, but just look at all the progress he has made. My God is truly an awesome God and answers prayers everyday! Tripp is the proof of it. He has thousands of prayers on his behalf everyday, and look at the progress he has made! I have faith, and no doubt whatsoever that Tripp is going to make a full recovery some day. We just have to all be patient, and let the progress come at its own pace.

Tripp Halstead Update – July 20, 2014

Stacy: Can you believe these pictures are only days apart? The before picture was on Sunday Oct 28th 2012 and his accident was on Monday Oct 29th. Wow. Bill sent this picture to me tonight. I think I have posted it before but we have a lot of new followers. Tripp was hit in the head by a tree incase you didn’t know. It almost killed him. But everyday we are fighting to get him back. Today was a good day. We both slept in because we didn’t have any appts. I got unpacked from the weekend and we worked on head control. My BFF Katie came over and we did some research such on panic attacks. I have had them since I was 12. They seem to be getting worse. Which I think is crazy cause things are going so good right now. Tripp is stable. He is down to puking once every two weeks or less. He is smiling and seems very happy. He sleeps great at night so I am getting sleep now. And I spend every night in my own bed with my hubby. Thanks to mom, my house is now organized, Bill and I are getting along great. My BFF is moving back, The crazies are all good. We are involved in lots of charities and paying it forward. Maybe I keep expecting something bad to happen. At the convention this weekend they talked a lot about anxieties. And how to deal with it. Lots of prayer, enough sleep, exercise, eating right, etc.. All these things I know. So I did go swim laps today and that seemed to help. Katie showed me which essential oils would work the best. She knows all about that stuff. I know millions of people deal with anxiety everyday, so at least I’m not alone. I am really surprised I never had attacks while Tripp was in the hospital. I think I was just in survival mode. And now I am not concerned every minute about Tripp dying. Which is a good thing. Well I promised I would watch “Finding Bigfoot” with Bill this evening so I missed the Bachelorette. Boo, but being the good wife that I am watched that crazy show. I will have to get caught up tomorrow on my crazy show. Bills dream is to go on a Bigfoot expedition. Yep, not my idea of a good time plus hate to break it to you Halstead.. They aren’t real!!!!! Lol. Tripp is snoozing so time to get his meds and feeding pump ready so we can go to bed. Hope everyone has a great night. Thank you for all your prayers and support. Love you all.

  • Bonnie Jean HernWhen I look at the picture the day before, the day of , and look at a current picture of him smiling, it is very clear to me that little by little, and now in bigger leaps, Tripp is coming back. I am so happy for you, Bill, and especially Tripp. Just imagine what he is going to be like when he does come back as close to all the way as possible. And then the day that he starts playing with other children, can you even fathom how great it will be. I truly believe that that day is closer and closer every day. Love and prayer coming your way.

Tripp Halstead Updates – 7/17/14

I have reposted Tripps updates from time to time ever since I first started reading about him and his accident. This one, as it has a very touching poem in it, really touches my heart. As I too am a poet and have written many poems to get out what I wanted to say. I can relate to where his mother, Stacy, is coming from. Please take time to read it. thank you.

Stupid Tree

At night I cry for you, for me
Every night I curse the stupid tree

The one that took your smile
Stupid tree
The one who took your laughter
Stupid tree
The one that took your spark
Yes the stupid tree
that almost took you from me

When I think about that day
I quietly bow my head to pray

I thank God that your still here with me
And they cut down that stupid stupid tree

The stupid tree turned my world around
And for many months I banged my head on the ground

Then we began to see the light
You started this courageous fight

You are better than the stupid tree
You’re fighting your way back to me

A blink, a look, a sound
Things that made my heart pound.

I can see you in there, a yearning
The wheels moving and turning

You want to fight back, you want to win
You want to be you again

I know you can do it my beautiful son
This long slow journey has just begun

You will fight the fight,
Fight with all your might

We are not going to let the stupid tree
Take any more of you from me

You’re my world, my love, a tiny piece of me
Together we are better than the stupid stupid tree.

(Just wrote this while sitting in my tub tonight)

Updates 10/24 – 10/25/13 – 6 On Tripp Halstead

Stacy: So far so good. No throwing up and his feet look good. Mom is here, so I took a nap. He has been getting pedialyte since 9:30 and they are increasing the speed every hour. So if all goes well, we get to go home tomorrow. So much for an overnight stay. Ha ha. I will take a pic of him with my next post. Anyway , I am paranoid about leaving Tripp alone in the room, so mom got here right as the cafe in the hospital closed for breakfast. So I needed to wait til lunch time to go get food. Then I took my nap and woke up at 2:25. We asked the nurse when the cafe closes and she said 2:30. Of course I was devastated. And hungry. And started to whine. So mom took off in a sprint to get me some food. Watch out people, lady on a mission! Gotta love her. And she made it. On her way back with some lunch. We don’t hv a car because Bill had to go back to work since we are staying longer than we first thought. And I didn’t want to run down there, I haven’t even looked in the mirror today. Just watching Tripp all night then finally napping today has left me looking a little like a crazy person. I do plan on combing my hair and changing clothes some time today. Ha ha Thank you for the prayers and positive thoughts. Love you.

Stacy: Well Trippadoodle threw up. But only once so if he keeps everything down from now on, we are still on schedule to go home tomorrow. He has been doing good though. His numbers have been good, he is very alert. He just hasn’t slept much at all last night or today. I pray he sleeps good tonight. You can tell he is so tired. He got a bath today but we can’t wash his hair yet. It is so yucky. But his incision looks good. Our good friends Charlie and Katie brought us dinner tonight. Thank you!! I stayed with Tripp last night so mom is staying with him tonight. I hope to go to bed early and get back over here early. If we are dismissed, it will be in the afternoon. Thank you for all your prayers and positive thoughts. Pray for no puking tonight!! Love you all.

Stacy: Good morning. Tripp only threw up once this morning so we are still on schedule to go home today. They will come back in at 12 to reevaluate. He looks great this morning, he turned his whole head to look at the camera for me. We can’t wash his hair for a few more days though. That is why is it looking even more crazy that usual. Ha ha He is very alert and he actually slept last night. So they just started his food, so time will tell if he can keep it down. You can do it Tripp!!!! Oh and we only have two more days left to raise money for the Children’s Hospital. If you haven’t made a donation yet and wanted too, here is the web page www.miraclemarathon.org
I have been a slacker these past few days with walking a mile, but I will make my miles up as soon as we are outta here. And only 4 more days till the one year anniversary of Tripp’s accident. Bill took off work that day so we are going to do something fun with Tripp. Thank you for all your prayers and positive thoughts. Love you all.
